These Tutor Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern the relationship between Algorithm Institute ("the Platform," "we," "our," or "us") and individuals or organizations who provide instructional content, mentorship, or related educational services on the Platform ("Tutor," "you," or "your").
By registering as a Tutor, creating courses, delivering lessons, or participating in the Mentorship Program on the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Eligibility
To become a Tutor on Algorithm Institute, you must:

Be at least 18 years of age.

Have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement.

Possess the necessary knowledge, skills, qualifications, or professional experience in the subject(s) you intend to teach.

Provide accurate information during registration and maintain current account details.
Algorithm Institute reserves the right to verify Tutor qualifications before approving any course or mentorship application.
2. Tutor Responsibilities
As a Tutor, you agree to:

Create and deliver original, accurate, practical, and high-quality educational content.

Ensure all course materials comply with applicable laws and do not infringe upon the intellectual property rights of others.

Maintain a professional, respectful, and supportive learning environment.
-
Keep course descriptions, pricing, learning outcomes, and resources accurate and up to date.
-
Protect student privacy and use personal information only for legitimate educational purposes.
-
Comply with copyright, privacy, tax, and all other applicable laws.
-
Where participating in the Mentorship Program, provide timely guidance, constructive feedback, and professional support to assigned mentees.
-
Maintain the quality standards established by Algorithm Institute.
3. Content Ownership & License
Tutors retain ownership of the original educational content they create.
By uploading or publishing content on Algorithm Institute, you grant the Platform a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to:

Host your content.

Display your content.
-
Distribute your content through the Platform.
-
Promote your courses through Algorithm Institute's marketing channels.
-
Use screenshots, thumbnails, excerpts, trailers, and promotional materials for marketing purposes.
This license continues while your content remains available on the Platform.
Tutors may not upload copyrighted content without the necessary rights or permissions.
4. Payments & Revenue Sharing
Tutors will receive compensation based on the applicable revenue-sharing model communicated by Algorithm Institute.
Payments may be made through supported payment methods including:

Bank Transfer
-
PayPal
-
Local Payment Providers
-
Other approved payment methods
Tutors are solely responsible for reporting and paying any taxes required in their jurisdiction.
Algorithm Institute may withhold, adjust, or reverse payments resulting from:

Student refunds
-
Chargebacks
-
Fraud investigations
-
Policy violations
-
Payment processing errors
5. Prohibited Conduct
Tutors must not:

Upload offensive, illegal, harmful, or misleading content.
-
Harass, threaten, discriminate against, or exploit students.
-
Share malicious software or unsafe files.
-
Promote unauthorized third-party products or services.
-
Encourage students to make payments outside the Platform.
-
Circumvent Platform payment systems.
-
Infringe copyrights, trademarks, or other intellectual property rights.
-
Misrepresent qualifications, certifications, or experience.
-
Engage in fraudulent or deceptive practices.
Violation of these rules may result in suspension or permanent removal.
6. Student Interaction
Tutors are expected to:

Treat every student with respect and professionalism.

Respond to student questions within a reasonable timeframe.
-
Provide constructive educational feedback.
-
Maintain appropriate professional boundaries.
-
Encourage respectful communication within the learning community.
Any abuse, harassment, exploitation, or inappropriate conduct toward students will result in disciplinary action, including account suspension or termination.
7. Mentorship Services
Algorithm Institute may invite or approve Tutors to provide mentorship services in addition to teaching courses.
Participation in the Mentorship Program is optional and subject to approval by Algorithm Institute.
Mentors agree to:

Provide professional guidance, coaching, and support to assigned students.

Conduct mentorship sessions, project reviews, workshops, or group discussions as scheduled.

Respond to mentee questions within a reasonable timeframe.
-
Offer constructive feedback that promotes learning and professional development.
-
Maintain respectful, ethical, and professional relationships with all mentees.
Mentors must not:

Request or accept payments directly from students for mentorship services outside the Platform unless expressly authorized by Algorithm Institute.

Guarantee employment, internships, certifications, examination success, or business outcomes.
-
Engage in harassment, discrimination, exploitation, or any unprofessional conduct.

Share confidential student information or Platform resources without authorization.
Algorithm Institute reserves the right to assign, reassign, suspend, or remove mentors from the Mentorship Program based on:

Performance
-
Student feedback
-
Professional conduct
-
Participation
-
Quality standards
-
Operational requirements
Where mentorship compensation is provided, payment shall be governed by the applicable Mentor Agreement, revenue-sharing arrangement, or other written terms communicated by Algorithm Institute.
Participation as a Mentor does not create an employment relationship between the Tutor and Algorithm Institute.
8. Platform Rights
Algorithm Institute reserves the right to:

Review and approve all courses before publication.

Reject or remove content that fails to meet quality standards.
-
Suspend or remove Tutors who violate Platform policies.
-
Modify Platform features, pricing, commission structures, or operational policies.
-
Promote courses through advertising, partnerships, or marketing campaigns.
-
Remove inactive or outdated courses where appropriate.
Algorithm Institute is not responsible for technical interruptions, student behavior, or loss of income caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control.
9. Termination
Tutors may close their account at any time by notifying Algorithm Institute.
Algorithm Institute may suspend or terminate Tutor accounts for:

Breach of these Terms

Academic misconduct

Student abuse
-
Copyright infringement
-
Fraud
-
Misrepresentation
-
Repeated policy violations
-
Activities that damage the reputation of Algorithm Institute
Upon termination:

Tutor access to the dashboard may be revoked.
-
Previously purchased courses may remain available to enrolled students where appropriate.
-
Outstanding payments may be withheld pending investigation where necessary.
10. Confidentiality
Tutors agree to maintain the confidentiality of any non-public information relating to:

Algorithm Institute operations
-
Internal documentation
-
Student records
-
Business strategies
-
Platform technology
-
Mentor communications
Confidential information may not be disclosed without prior written permission.
11. Intellectual Property
Algorithm Institute is a trademark and educational platform owned and operated by Algorithm Innovations LLC.
All trademarks, service marks, trade names, logos, brand assets, software, website designs, educational frameworks, documentation, platform features, graphics, videos, course templates, proprietary systems, and other intellectual property associated with Algorithm Institute are the exclusive property of Algorithm Innovations LLC or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Nothing in these Terms grants a Tutor any ownership rights in the Algorithm Institute or Algorithm Innovations LLC intellectual property.
Tutors retain ownership of the original educational content they create. However, by publishing content on the Platform, Tutors grant Algorithm Institute the license described in Section 3 (Content Ownership & License).
Tutors may not, without prior written permission from Algorithm Innovations LLC:

Copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, or sell Algorithm Institute proprietary materials.

Use the Algorithm Institute name, logo, trademarks, or branding in a manner that suggests sponsorship, endorsement, or ownership beyond their authorized role as a Tutor or Mentor.

Create derivative products or competing educational platforms using proprietary materials belonging to Algorithm Institute or Algorithm Innovations LLC.
Unauthorized use of Algorithm Institute's intellectual property may result in suspension or termination of Tutor access and may lead to legal action where permitted by applicable law.
12. Limitation of Liability
Algorithm Institute shall not be liable for:

Loss of income or business opportunities.

Platform downtime.
-
Internet or technical failures.
-
Student misuse of educational content.
-
Indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages.
The Platform provides educational services on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
13. Changes to These Terms
Algorithm Institute may update these Terms from time to time.
Where significant changes are made, Tutors will be notified through the Platform or by email.
Continued use of the Platform after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts of Nigeria unless otherwise required by applicable law.
